📅 - OptiGlobe (optiglobe.com), a leader in providing Internet data center services to Latin America, announced the launch of its newest Latin American data center in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Wednesday.
The new center is part of OptiGlobe's plan for continued expansion into Latin America, which began with a data center launched in Sao Paulo, Brazil last November, and will continue later this month with the launch of a third center in Rio De Janiero, Brazil. The company also has sites under development in Mexico City and Santiago.
OptiGlobe also announced on Wednesday that its Sao Paulo data center had surpassed the 100 client mark, having added an average of one client per day, since the data center's launch. The new $100 million data center in Buenos Aires was constructed in just eight months, and its initial configuration of 125,000 square feet is set to house up to 18,000 servers. The center is also built to be expandable to 330,000 square feet. Equipped with a complex arrangement of backup power grids, water supplies, as well as fire and security systems, and staffed 24 x7 by engineering and technical teams, the Buenos Aries center is set to offer Argentineans the very highest level in Web hosting service.
According to OptiGlobe, the new data center uses fifth generation technology, allowing the company to offer the highest levels of service and reliability available.
