Apr 4, 2001 : Dell expands its enterprise services

📅 - On Wednesday, server and storage manufacturing giant Dell Computer Corporation (dell.com) made an announcement launching its new line of Premier Enterprise Services, an expansion of its existing enterprise services program, and one that includes new levels of support for enterprise environments.

Dell's Premier Enterprise Services program is made up of several services. They include consulting services, designed to help users design, test, tune and deploy IT solutions based on Dell server and storage technology, deployment services designed to help customers custom design and install hardware and software, and support services offering customers problem prevention and technical support.
The Premier Enterprise Support Services are offered up in four new tiers of service, divided into bronze, silver, gold and platinum support. And were developed with the intention of helping users optimize their data infrastructure through the services provided by Dell Technology Consulting.
Dell Technology consulting provides its services based on Microsoft.NET offerings, including Commerce Server 2000, Exchange 2000, and SQL Server 2000, running on a Windows 2000 environment.
The platinum and gold services are designed to support large data center scale environments. The high-end services include engineer-to-engineer support from Dell's Enterprise Expert Center, technical account managers to provide what the company calls "a single point of accountability," remote storage and software support and 24x7 on-site hardware support.
Designed for smaller departmental workgroup servers and storage, the silver plan offers 24x7 hardware and software technical support by phone, as well as a quick four-hour response time for on-site hardware support. And for systems that are not time-sensitive, the bronze plan offers 24x7 technical support by phone and online, as well as on-site support by the next business day.
Initially offered only in the US and Canada, Dell expects its Premier Enterprise Services to be available globally by the end of 2001.
