📅 - Storage software developer VERITAS (veritas.com) announced on Monday that VERITAS Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Server and VERITAS i3 for SQL Server now support the 64-bit editions of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
VERITAS Backup Exec 10.0 is a backup and recovery solution. VERITAS i3 for SQL Server enables database administrators to monitor and manage application performance. The company says customers who upgrade to the 64-bit version of the platform will be supported by the Gold Standard in Windows protection. VERITAS says it will support Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions across its storage management, high availability and disaster recovery solutions. "Microsoft is extremely pleased that VERITAS is supporting Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions across the company's backup, storage management, high availability, disaster recovery and application service management product lines," says John Borozan, senior product manager for the Windows Server division at Microsoft. "Working with industry leaders such as VERITAS enables our joint customers to transition to powerful 64-bit computing systems with confidence and at their own pace. Utilizing technology from both companies, customers can also expect substantial performance improvements relative to their 32-bit computing systems used today."
