📅 - Real-time discovery and resource optimization provider NLayers (nlayers.com) announced on Tuesday that data center automation software provider BladeLogic (bladelogic.com) will integrate nLayers' mapping and discovery technology into its automation platform to provide customers end-to-end visibility.
The new offering enables customers to find and document services and their corresponding dependencies running in a data center; organize and apply servers and associated applications based on policies that are specific to each organization; and fully manage the complete lifecycle of servers.
"Having deep visibility not only on the underlying components that constitute a particular application but also on the relationships between components and applications is something that is critical to managing the data center," says Vijay Manwani, CTO of BladeLogic. "After evaluating the available technologies in the marketplace, we selected nLayers due to its ability to offer rich discovery and dependency-mapping capabilities that are easy to implement with quick time-to-value."
BladeLogic Operations Manager automates a range of data center management processes including auto-discovery of granular server configurations, server and software provisioning, application change management, remote administration and ongoing patch and compliance management.
