Multi-Tech Systems promotes alternatives for Shiva remote access servers

📅 - Leading data communications and telecommunications company Multi-Tech Systems Inc. (multitech.com) announced on Tuesday that it was stepping up its efforts to promote the company's alternatives to Intel's discontinued Shiva line of dial-in Remote Access Server products.

Multi-Tech's RASFinder low density server solution offers V.90 analog dial-up capabilities, and is also available in a hybrid analog/ISDN BRI model not offered by any of the Shiva models. The Multi-Tech CommPlete line of servers are available with a range of capabilities, from 8 ISDN/V.90 ports to multiple T1/E1/PRIs.
The company says that although Intel has decided to abandon the dial-in market, there is still a considerable demand for dial-in access servers. Intel's departure has simply left consumers with one less alternative. Multitech says it was providing dial-in remote access products long before the Shiva line came into existence, and it plans to continue long after it is gone.
Part of Multi-Tech's increased marketing strategy includes promoting its RAS product line in the company's travelling seminar series, through its optimum resellers? program, and through channel marketing activities.
As an award-winning global manufacturer of Internet, remote access, and telephony products, Multi-Tech Systems? product solutions are geared toward small to medium sized businesses. The privately held company has over 50 US patents, as well as many international patents, dealing in areas like multiplexing voice, data and video packets over communications networks used in technology such as Internet telephony, PC telephony, voice over IP or frame relay, and DSVD modems.
