📅 July 6, 2005 - Content delivery and streaming solutions provider VitalStream (vitalstream.com -> inap.com) said on Tuesday that it would integrate Sorenson Media's compression technology with its Streaming Service for Flash.
Sorenson Media's Sorenson Squeeze 4.1 compresses digital video for archiving and sharing video over the Internet, and storage on CD and DVD. VitalStream says it is the first content delivery network operator to integrate Sorenson's Sorenson Squeeze 4.1 encoding software. Customers will be able to easily publish digital video files to VitalStream's network, the company says, improving traditional workflow. "Businesses seeking to publish their digital content online have been forced to use two independent sources until now," says Jack Waterman, CEO of VitalStream. "By integrating Sorenson Squeeze software with VitalStream's delivery services, digital media publishers, for the first time, can compress and deliver their video using a single source. VitalStream's complete toolset makes the entire publishing process more efficient and affordable for small businesses and enterprises."
