Aug 16, 2005 : Pre-Authentication Date for .travel Set

📅 August 16, 2005 - The .travel registry operator Tralliance Corporation (tralliance.info) said on Monday that pre-authentication for the .travel domain will begin on August 22, 2005 with a limited launch slated for October 1, 2005.

Tralliance says the pre-authentication period is for travel businesses or organizations that are not members of any travel association or are members of travel associations that are not currently serving as authentication providers.

Ron Andruff, president and chief executive officer of Tralliance Corporation, says the limited launch will run for for 90 days, as required by ICANN, and serves as a transitional period before the official launch of .travel later this year.

"The global response to .travel has been overwhelming and reflective of the keen interest of travel marketers to have their own space on the Internet," says Andruff.
