📅 - Sun Microsystems (sun.com) announced on Monday that financial regulatory services provider NASD had migrated many of its business applications to Sun systems running on the Solaris 10 operating system. NASD will also deploy the Sun StorEdge 6920 system. Sun's Customer Solutions Organization provided the migration services. "NASD is pleased to be working closely with Sun Microsystems," says Marty Colburn, executive vice president and chief technology officer for NASD. "Thanks to our relationship we have been able to move forward quickly on several initiatives while increasing efficiency and reliability in our systems and processes." Sun says the new systems provide help NASD lower operating costs, while providing additional performance, capacity and reliability.
