📅 September 1, 2005 - Managed DNS service provider UltraDNS (ultradns.com) announced on Wednesday that it had been selected to provide enhanced DNS performance and security for online contextual advertising provider Vibrant Media.
UltraDNS says its managed DNS services increase network reliability, enabling Web advertisers and publishers to consistently reach their customers. This is done with routing technologies in the UltraDNS global network that ensure client requests are directed to the closest server, providing faster response times. Changes to DNS data are also globally propagated in near real time to give users the most up-to-date information to resolve their content requests. "Our DNS infrastructure is vital to our ability to meet the needs of our clients and help them maximize their revenue," says Richard Brindley, chief technology officer of Vibrant Media. "And since our clients are worldwide, we need to leverage the security and redundancy of the UltraDNS global infrastructure for our Web-based business processes. The sale, valued at $25.8 million, includes e^deltacom's data center facility in Suwanee, Georgia. ITC^deltacom says the proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
