Sep 8, 2005 : Limelight Streaming Court Hearings

📅 - Internet content delivery network Limelight Networks (limelightnetworks.com) announced on Thursday it is teaming up with Southern California public television station KCET (kcet.org) to video stream The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer's live coverage of next week's Senate confirmation hearings on US Supreme Court chief justice nominee John Roberts.

KCET will provide live HDTV coverage in Southern California on Channel 59 and will provide the nightly half-hour special, Washing Week Special Edition: The Roberts Hearings.

Visitors can also view live video streamed hearings on KCET's Web site via the Limelight Networks Content Delivery Network.

"KCET has a tradition of covering significant national hearings and events. Thanks to the technology of video streaming, we can now expand broadcast coverage without intruding on our respected children's daytime schedule," says Jackie Kain, VP of new media for KCET. "To that end, Limelight Networks enables us to achieve extremely reliable, high-performance streaming video delivery of the Senate hearings via the Internet."
