Oct 12, 2005 : Samsung Networks in Equinix Data Center

📅 October 12, 2005 - Data center operator Equinix (equinix.com) announced on Monday that communications service provider Samsung Networks has chosen to move to an Equinix data center.
 Samsung Networks will move to Equinix's New York and Silicon Valley Internet Business Exchange centers, peering with other networks and offerings its own services to other Equinix customers.  The company will use the Equinix Exchange and Equinix Direct exchange services to facilitate interconnection. Equinix Exchange will begin offering a 10 Gigabit Ethernet capability later this year. "Equinix provides an ideal infrastructure from which we can greatly enhance and expand our network, through directly interconnecting with an aggregation of strategic networks under one roof," says Hong-Kyoon Chun, chief technical officer of Samsung Networks. "Equinix is the only place where this critical mass of networks exists, and Equinix's innovative exchange services simplify the process for establishing relationships with our strategic partners and customers operating within their IBX centers."
