Jan 16, 2006 : SCPanel.net Adds Streaming Features

📅 January 16, 2006 - Shoutcast control panel SCPanel.net announced on Monday that it had added several new features to its latest version. Shoutcast (shoutcast.com) is a free audio streaming technology developed by Nullsoft.


The new features include support for radio introduction files, backup audio files, video streaming support, API support, increased radio security and an improved control panel design.

SCPanel.net says expanded support for WinAmp, Windows Media Player, Real Media Player and Quicktime is the most important new feature. Shoutcast radio streams are typically listened to using WinAmp. With expanded options, Scpanel listeners can choose from several different popular media players.

"We've had a great response thus far from our existing clients introduced to the new features," says Alexandros Symeonidis, head developer for SCPanel. "You can expect to see just as many new features and exciting add-ons with SCPanel version 1.3 in late January to early February."

Web hosting provider Incognito Networks (incognitonetworks.com) acquired SCPanel.net last week.
