📅 February 27, 2006 - Video streaming provider VitalStream (vitalstream.com -> inap.com) announced on Monday that it has teamed with Flash animation software company NETGUI (netgui.com) to create WEBBEO (webbeo.com), a hosted solution enabling customers to use digital video in Flash animation and upload it to the Web.

WEBBEO uses NETGUI's Flash authoring tools and VitalStream's video streaming solution to provide compression for large video files and optimize them for delivery over the Internet.

"Consumers want a way to easily publish video online, and VitalStream, along with NETGUI, offer one of the first end-to-end solutions to do so," says Jack Waterman, CEO of VitalStream. "We're seeing an increasing demand for a way to easily stream digital video online, and as a video streaming solutions pioneer, VitalStream aims to equip the online community with innovative tools like WEBBEO for hosted video sharing."

The companies say WEBBEO is designed to enable users to create Web-based movies, email greeting cards, animated photo albums, presentations, advertisements and banners with interactive flash content.
