📅 - Data center operator Equinix (equinix.com) announced on Wednesday that remote access provider LogMeIn (logmein.com) has employed an Equinix facility in setting up its third data center to increase capacity and redundancy. The new LogMeIn site will be located within the Equinix Silicon Valley Internet Business Exchange center. This new California deployment joins LogMeIn's other facilities in Massachusetts and in New York. As part of the agreement, Equinix will provide the infrastructure for a fully redundant network deployment, replicating LogMeIn's east coast data center infrastructure. "Equinix provides LogMeIn with a state of the art data center and network exchange services infrastructure that can grow with the company and provide a highly reliable platform for their customer access services," says Margie Backaus, chief business officer at Equinix. "By operating at Equinix, LogMeIn can provide customers with the highest levels of performance as the company rolls out new products and services to its expanding universe of users." LogMeIn provides instant, secure connections between remote PCs over the Web, enabling easy desktop remote control, data backup, file sharing, remote system administration and on-demand customer support.
