📅 June 22, 2006 - Web hosting provider IPOWER (ipower.com ) announced on Thursday it now hosts sites using the Ruby On Rails (rubyonrails.org) Web site programming platform. Ruby on Rails is available to all IPOWER Web hosting customers with the IPOWER Pro Web hosting plan or higher.

Ruby On Rails is the latest addition to IPOWER's expanding range of Web page program capabilities, which include such programs as PHP, Perl, Bash & Python. Ruby On Rails is a full-stack programming framework for developing database-driven Web site applications, such as collaboration software and e-commerce.

It is well regarded for incorporating some of the greatest features from various older programming languages in its feature package.

"Ruby On Rails is a great, easy-to-use programming language that simplifies the programming process," says Michael Funke, VP of IT for IPOWER. "We know that our customers will appreciate having the option of using Ruby On Rails to develop their sites."
