Aug, 2024 : AWS Launches Cloud Infrastructure Region in Malaysia

📅 August 22, 2024 - The AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region has been launched. Developers, entrepreneurs, startups, government agencies, nonprofits, and businesses will now have more options for hosting their applications and providing end users withcloud hosting servicesfrom Malaysian AWS data centers.

AWS intends to spend an estimated $6.2 billion (or around MYR 29.2 billion) in Malaysia until 2038 as part of its long-term commitment.

According to AWS, it is projected that the establishment and functioning of the new AWS Region will provide over $12.1 billion (MYR 57.3 billion) to Malaysia's GDP and sustain over 3,500 full-time equivalent employment at external enterprises on average per year until 2038.
