Oct 27, 2006 : Hosted Solutions Adds Boston Center
📅 - Web hosting provider Hosted Solutions (hostedsolutions.com -> hostinger.com) announced on Thursday it has acquired a Boston data center facility from Boston Datacenters (bostondatacenters.com -> hostinger.com), its first deal outside of North Carolina. Gary McAuliffe, general manager of the Hosted Solutions Charlotte announced the news last night at "The Exchange", a quarterly networking event for business executives, organized by WRAL Local Tech Wire and hosted by Hosted Solutions.
McAuliffe will soon move to Boston to run the facility as vice president and general manager, providing Hosted Solutions with four data centers, including one in Cary, North Carolina and another in Raleigh, North Carolina. The company decided to acquire Boston Datacenters after executives of the two firms were introduced through a "mutual relationship", says McAuliffe.
"The technology community in Boston is really expanding," says McAuliffe. "They are really coming back (from the "dot com" crash). We're excited to be entering that market."
McAuliffe says the move places Hosted Solution in a growing economic environment, as well as expands the company's geographic footprint. The company will acquire the 20 existing Boston Datacenters employees and will soon expand the staff. Boston Datacenters, which is located in nearby Charlestown, has roughly 500 customers.
