Iron Mountain Buys Colocation Data Centers EvoSwitch in Amsterdam for €205M


evoswitch.com logo📅 - Iron Mountain (ironmountain.com) (NYSE: IRM), the global data storage and information management services company with services including colocation and cloud-based managed services, has acquired EvoSwitch (evoswitch.com)'s two colocation data center sites in the Metropolitan Region Amsterdam (MRA) for €205 ($235) million. Total potential capacity of these two data centers in the Amsterdam area for Iron Mountain is 34MW.

The transaction provides Iron Mountain with 11 megawatts (MW) of existing data center capacity in the Metropolitan Region Amsterdam (MRA) in the Netherlands, which is 100% leased, with expansion capability of an additional 23 MW, for total potential capacity of 34 [...][... Amsterdam, December 15, 2009 - EvoSwitch, the Dutch carrier-neutral data center with CO2-neutral operations, has lowered the average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of its data center from 1.6 in 2008 to 1.5 in 2009. Thus, the energy savings compared to a conventional data center has increased from 40 to 50 percent. The ultimate goal of EvoSwitch is to achieve an energy savings rate of 80 percent.
