Dec 21, 2016 : Cisco Ending Intercloud Services


📅 - Cisco has announced that they are planning on ending its Intercloud Services on March 31, 2017. The announcement was made in October, and the company set a final sale date for Intercloud Fabric for Business and Intercloud Fabric for Providers for April 12, 2017. Application support for the products will last until 2020, although the Open Stack-based platform will begin shutting down even sooner.

Intercloud was originally announced in January of 2014 and launched in that September. The company was later opened to developers in mid-2015.

Kip Compton, Cloud Platform and Services VP said, “the CIS multi-tenant hosting platform will be shut down and all tenants fully migrated to other platforms.” Cisco is going to begin focusing on “Enterprise Hybrid Cloud and SP Network Function Virtualization.”
