📅 - Recently, Capital One announced they will be using Amazon Web Services as their main cloud provider. Capital One is a large financial holdings company based out of McLean, Virginia. They are a Fortune 500 company with many financial products and services for consumers and businesses.
The agreement to use AWS as their main cloud provider is a five-year agreement. The bulk of the business from Capital One will be migrated to AWS, along with customer applications.

📅 - Amazon Unveils New High Tech Cloud Services - With Amazon's cloud computing revenue expected to top $10 billion this year, the company has announced some new cloud computing products. On Wednesday, Amazon introduced Polly an image recognition service and Lex a speech-to-text service.
The products were introduced on Wednesday at the company's re:Invent conference by Andy Jassy, the CEO of Amazon Web Services unit. The event was the 5th annual and drew 32,000 attendees from many different sectors of the tech field.
Cloud spending in the public sector is expected to increase 17 percent this year, rising to over $204 billion.

📅 - Russia Accuses Foreign Governments of Planning Massive Cyber Attack - Russia's Federal Security Service is claiming that they have foiled a massive cyber attack that was aimed at the country's financial system. The Federal Security Service is Russia's main intelligence agency, the agency that took over for the KGB.
They are claiming today that they had received information detailing “plans by foreign secret services to carry out large scale cyber attacks from December 5.” The plot involved data centers owned by a Ukrainian hosting company, Blazing Fast.
