📅 - Co-founder Larry Page decided to create Alphabet Inc. to ensure it was separate from the main Google business. He know it was a costly project and might not work out, but wanted to try it anyway.
After 15 months, another CEO has left the Alphabet Access unit, along with other executives. The many projects found under Alphabet have struggled including Nest and Google Fiber. Alphabet hasn't named a replacement CEO yet.

📅 - LinkedIn May Soon be Blocked in Russia - Russia is threatening to shut down the popular business networking site LinkedIn. The government under the leadership or Vladimir Putin, recently passed a law requiring all companies operating within Russia to store their data locally, and LinkedIn does not do that.
The law was passed in 2012, following the re-election of Putin in the wake of anti-government protests. The threat to shut down LinkedIn is the first test of the law.
