📅 - Web hosting provider AISO.Net (aiso.net) announced on Wednesday it has been selected by Inc. Magazine (inc.com) as one of the Top 50 Green Companies in the United States.
Based in Romoland, California, AISO.Net says it is California's first solar-powered hosting company and has been providing environmentally friendly Web hosting services since 1997. Using solar panels to power its data center and network, AISO.Net hosts Web sites and dedicated servers both in and outside the US. AISO.Net says it is the only true 100 percent solar powered data center that does not use green energy credits.
"The Green 50 award is well timed as we migrate all of our physical machines and our clients' machines into this new redundant virtual environment," says Phil Nail, technology manager for AISO.Net. "Inc. Magazine was able to see that we are trying to help the environment in many ways on top of being a solar powered data center and has chosen to shine a spotlight on our business. It is our hope that the Green 50 will serve as examples to promote the idea that there are ways to profitably do the right thing for our environment."
Inc. Magazine's Green 50 list is a collection of the top 50 most intriguing companies that are helping to drive today's green revolution.

The data center took six months to build, and is completely solar powered through the use of over 120 ground mounted solar panels.
