Aug, 2016 : Google Explains Google App Engine Outage


📅 - The Google App Engine experienced an outage on August 11th, and the company is still releasing details on what sparked the outage. The incident affected 37 percent of US-Central hosted applications.

The incident has been blamed on a software update for its traffic routers, which then triggered a rolling restart during standard periodic maintenance.

Google explained, “We apologize for this incident, we know that you choose to run your applications on Google App Engine to obtain flexible, reliable, high-performance service, and in this incident we have not delivered the level of reliability for which we strive.”
