Aug, 2016 : WhatsApp Will Share User Data with Facebook

📅 August 25, 2016 - In a Thursday blog post, WhatsApp announced that they will begin sharing phone numbers and other user data with Facebook. This new strategy strays from the initial promise that little would change when Facebook bought the messaging service in 2014.

This is the first update to the WhatsApp terms of service and privacy in four years, one that may upset many who relied on WhatsApp's original statement that the company was made “around the goal of knowing as little about you as possible.”

Prosecuters are calling this one of the most prolific credit card trafficking schemes ever. Seleznev, had been stealing credit card numbers from retail businesses worldwide, and selling the data on the Internet. Many of the compromised businesses were pizza restaurants.
