Aug, 2016 : CloudFlare Won’t Back Down to Record Labels


📅 - A group of record labels want CloudFlare to stop providing services to websites connected to music streaming site MP3Skull. CloudFlare isn't backing down.

Earlier this month, CloudFlare told a court, that without proper legal proceedings, they can't be forced to block sites connected with MP3Skull.

That move was praised by the Electronic Frontier Foundation in a recent blog post, “Copyright law limits the kinds of orders that a court can impose on Internet intermediaries, and requires courts to consider the pros and cons thoroughly. In this case, as in other recent cases, copyright (and trademark) holders are trying to use extremely broad interpretations of some basic court rules to bypass these important protections.”
