📅 November 20, 2006 - Web hosting provider CirtexHosting (cirtexhosting.com ) announced on Monday it has upgraded tools for developers and has enabled its servers to record, convert and stream digital audio and video.

The company now offers PHP4 and PHP5, as well as IonCube Loader and Zend Optimizer II. The additions offer greater XML support as well as SQL related tools, including SQLite and MySQLi. The Web host has also added Linux-based software packages FFMPEG and FFMPEG-PHP, which enable users to manipulate and stream digital video.

"These changes will offer our customers additional capabilities in developing their Web sites, especially those dealing with multimedia content," says John Xie, CirtexHosting president. "In an increasingly Web 2.0 environment, it is important we continue to offer the latest technologies."

The new additions have been deployed to all CirtexHosting servers, and are available for free. CirtexHosting shared Web hosting plans start at $2.50 a month and include a range of developer tools, including Perl, CGI, Curl, GD2 and NetPBM and ImageMagick.
