Enterprises Move Big Data to the Cloud with New Migration Program
📅 - As the cloud continues to grow in popularity, enterprises that have not yet adopted are beginning to move data to the cloud under a new migration program. Qubole, a PaaS company, recently partnered with WANdisco to assist enterprises that want to migrate big data to the cloud.
Many companies are currently using an on-premise data model, which isn't compatible with cloud deployment models. Many are unsure of how to budget or approach the move to the cloud. Qubole and WANdisco want to offer the first fully bundled migration service for companies to make the big move to the cloud seamlessly.

📅 - Microsoft Could Overtake AWS in Popularity by 2019 - A new survey from Morgan Stanley, The 2016 State of the CIO Report, says Microsoft Azure could overtake Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the most used public cloud by the year 2019. The report found that the number of companies without public IaaS service are expected to decrease by 43.8%, down to a record low of 10%.
Amazon currently boasts more than twice the number of customers as Azure, but 19.9% of those surveyed said they had intentions to adopt Azure over the next 3 years. Only 8.7% of the people surveyed said they plan to add AWS services over the next 3 years.

📅 - Facebook Messenger Tests End-to-End Encryption for Secret Conversations - Facebook, the social network giant, is testing end-to-end encryption in Facebook Messenger. The security feature is being tested on a limited basis, and if the participants' feedback is positive, the feature will continue to roll out in phases.
Facebook says they've been bombarded by requests for more security in discussions through Messenger, and this is their answer. The company brought in security and privacy experts to put the measures in place for the new encryption feature.

📅 - GoDaddy Now Offering Products in Marathi, Hindi and Tamil - GoDaddy, a web host and domain name provider, has launched products and services in the Marathi, Tamil and Hindi languages. With India as the second largest country in the world for SMEs, GoDaddy felt the need to break the language barrier.
