📅 - A new survey from Morgan Stanley, The 2016 State of the CIO Report, says Microsoft Azure could overtake Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the most used public cloud by the year 2019. The report found that the number of companies without public IaaS service are expected to decrease by 43.8%, down to a record low of 10%.
Amazon currently boasts more than twice the number of customers as Azure, but 19.9% of those surveyed said they had intentions to adopt Azure over the next 3 years. Only 8.7% of the people surveyed said they plan to add AWS services over the next 3 years.

📅 - Skype Meetings Launched by Microsoft - Skype Meetings, a tool for companies to use for video chat meetings, was recently launched by Microsoft. Users will be able to organize meetings with up to 10 people and can use it any one time for a 60-day period after they set up the service. After that, they will only be able to call three people at a time.
The program will also allow for the use of online PowerPoint and even use of a laser pointer during the presentation. It's best for small companies, but Microsoft will be growing the program and will expand it to allow up to 250 people, at some point.

📅 - AVG to be Bought by Avast for $1.3 Billion - AVG and Avast have come to an agreement an Avast Software will buy AVG Technologies NV for $1.3 billion. They will add software for mobile phone protection from malware as a part of their plan with the technology.
Avast is backed by CVC Capital Partners and will start a tender offer in Amsterdam at $25 a share in cash. That will be about 33% above the asking priced on the New York Stock Exchange for the ...

PHP is a popular Open Source scripting language and the plugin will help to check the code on WordPress websites. It will also check to see if the site is compatible with an upgrade.

Qubole, a PaaS company, recently partnered with WANdisco to assist enterprises that want to migrate big data to the cloud.
Many companies are currently using an on-premise data model, which isn't compatible with cloud deployment models. Many are unsure of how to budget or approach the move to the cloud. Qubole and WANdisco want to offer the first fully bundled migration service for companies to make the big move to the cloud seamlessly.
