📅 - On Tuesday, the Federal Communication Commission Open Internet Rules were upheld by a DC Circuit Court of Appeals. The court denied the appeal from the United States Telecom Association. The ruling will extend laws governing telephone services to ISPs, pending any further appeal.
The arguments presented by US Telcom were found to be unpersuasive as the FCC rules were upheld. Now, the FCC has the authority to classify broadband as a telecommunications service.
