📅 - Verizon has completed a Network Function Virtualization (NFV) OpenStack cloud, which will become the largest of this kind in the industry. It will cover five United States data centers and deployments are in progress now.
The project began in 2015 with a mission to create an architecture capable of providing plenty of flexibility and hyperscale for complex company networks. Verizon worked with Red Hat, Dell and Big Switch Networks to develop the NFV project and deploy over 50 racks in five data centers. It all happened in less than 9 months. .
