Cisco Makes Major Announcements to Expand Hyperconverged Infrastructure and Cloud
📅 - On Tuesday, Cisco announced two major data center moves including the acquisition of CliQr Technologies and a new line of hyperconverged infrastructure systems. Both moves leverage the current data center technologies of the company.
CliQr Technologies is an IT orchestration startup based out of San Jose, California. Cisco is buying the company for $260 million cash. The orchestration platform has already been integrated with Cisco's Application Centric Infrastructure software.
The new hyperconverged product line will be called HyperFlex. It will provide a storage management layer to UCS. .
