Jan, 2016 : Digital Realty Considers Interxion Acquisition
📅 - San Francisco-based colocation and interconnection company Digital Realty is considering acquiring the Europe-based data center colocation provider Interxion for an undisclosed amount. The consideration was announced earlier this week through investor news site DealReporter.
Two of Interxion's main competitors–Equinix and Telecity Group–recently merged and are cornering the market. This came as a surprise to Interxion, who had previously agreed to merge with Telecity before Equinix stepped in. The decision to acquire Interxion would make Digital Realty a bigger player in colocation, balancing the market.
