📅 - IBM, also referred to as “Big Blue” recently acquired The Weather Company. The company also owns part of The Weather Channel and is headquartered in Armonk, New York.
The goal of acquiring the company is to strengthen IBM. They now own the bulk of The Weather Company's cloud-based technology, which includes Weather.com. Even the Weather Channel's broadcasts on TV will include content provided by IBM.
A big reason for the deal was the hardware the company owned and the cloud. Now The Weather Company CEO, David Kenny, will join IBM. .
