Nov 22, 2010 : The Nexus Group to Partner with R1Soft
📅 - The company reinforces commitment to clients with R1Soft Continuous Data Protection.
The Nexus Group (TNG), an infrastructure solutions provider, recently revealed plans to enhance its backup and disaster recovery offerings through a partnership with R1Soft, developer of Continuous Data Protection (CDP) software. The company avers that the selection comes after a six month search, spurred by growing demand for its business continuity and disaster recovery solutions. It will offer R1Soft CDP as a part of a fully managed backup service to both end customers and its partners.
It explains that in its search, the company needed to find more than just a powerful backup solution; it needed to find a solution that could manage the initial data transfer better than other options on the market. It was therefore attracted to R1Soft CDP's virtual full backup technology, which requires only one full backup, the initial replica. Further, the company can complete the first backup at the client's site, transporting the initial replica to their secure data center. Subsequent data replications can be managed and executed virtually via CDP's multi-user, multi-tenant web interface. With CDP's bare-metal restore feature, it can restore a client's entire server to a previous state directly from backup media, without requiring that the O/S or backup application be installed first.
Even with the challenge of the initial data transfer met, the company still required one additional feature: bare-metal restore. "Bare-metal backup is the first critical step to a robust disaster recovery/business continuity plan," said Wayne Wood, Vice President of Sales for The Nexus Group. "Choosing a packaged backup software provider that enabled us to help our customers and the customers of our channel partners was paramount to our product decision."
"By partnering with R1Soft, The Nexus Group will further elevate the scope and effectiveness of its business continuity and disaster recovery solutions," said David Wartell, Vice President of R1Soft, a division of BBS Technologies. "The selection of CDP technology sends TNG's current and prospective customers a clear message that TNG places paramount importance on the security of their mission critical data."
