Tech Data Opens Cisco Unified Computing System Data Center

Tech Data Corporation, a distributor of IT products, today announced that Cisco resellers now have access to the new Cisco Unified Computing System data center in its technology solutions center. According to the company, the facility is the latest addition to its Cisco Solutions Center, and will enable Cisco resellers to familiarize their sales and technical teams, as well as their customers with the Cisco Unified Computing System B- and C-Series Server technology.
It explains that the company dedicated additional space and installed more than $1 million worth of new equipment in its Cisco Solutions Center, including eight Cisco UCS B-Series blade servers, two Cisco UCS C-Series rack-mount servers, two Cisco Nexus 7000 switches, two Cisco Nexus 5000 switches, two Cisco MDS 9134 fiber channel switches, a Cisco MDS 9222i fiber channel switch, and two Cisco UCS 6120 fabric interconnects. In addition, the Cisco UCS data center includes the EMC CLARiiON storage system, VMware vSphere and VMware View virtualization platforms, and APC power and cooling solutions to demonstrate a fully optimized data center environment.
The company further explains that it also is fully authorized to custom configure Cisco Unified Computing System C-Series Servers on behalf of its customers. This is the latest addition to its TDIntegration services for Cisco resellers, which already include the company's Cisco Advanced Integration Services. Resellers can have Cisco hardware quickly and cost-effectively configured and drop-shipped to their customers. Additionally, the company is the only distributor with ISO 9001:2000 certified custom hardware configuration facilities on the East and West Coasts, creating the channel's most efficient distribution network for custom-configured Cisco solutions.
It articulates that the company's Cisco Solutions Center now features more than $2 million worth of IT equipment. In addition to the new Cisco Unified Computing System data center, all Cisco solutions available through the channel are represented in the facility. That includes Cisco's traditional switching and routing technology, indoor and outdoor wireless, unified communications, network security, digital media and video surveillance. Its Cisco Solutions Center trainings are a free service available to all its customers. The center also is fully equipped to support remote, expert-led solutions demonstrations for resellers to train their Cisco sales and technical professionals, as well as to introduce Cisco solutions to their customers.
