ICANN Formalizes Relationships with ccTLD Managers for Puerto Rico and Fiji

ICANN announced today that it has signed accountability frameworks with thecountry code top level domain (ccTLD) managers for .pr-- Puerto Rico, GaussResearch Laboratory Inc. and .fj-- Fiji, University of the South Pacific, InformationTechnology Services.

These are the 27th and 28th accountability frameworkssigned by ICANN. The Accountability Framework program provides two mechanismsby which ccTLD managers can formalise their relationship with ICANN. Thefirst is an Accountability Framework document that sets out the obligationsof a ccTLD manager and ICANN. It also covers dispute resolution and terminationand is designed for ccTLD managers requiring a formal document with ICANN.The second mechanism is an exchange of letters between ICANN and the ccTLDmanager designed for those for whom a simple statement of commitment is moreappropriate.
