May, 2009 : AllureHost Replaces Apache with LiteSpeed Web Server

📅 - Company has deployed LiteSpeed Web Server to replace Apache on its entire fleet of Linux hosting servers.

AllureHost, a provider of cPanel/WHM-based shared and reseller hosting solutions, today announced that it has deployed LiteSpeed Web Server to replace Apache on its entire fleet of Linux hosting servers.

The company states that LiteSpeed offers alternative to Apache, the default web server used most widely on Linux servers. It adds that in comparison to Apache, LiteSpeed offers significantly greater system efficiency and enhanced performance for PHP-powered web sites. The company explains that LiteSpeed's compatibility with Apache also has enabled it to execute a seamless transition between the two technologies. Hosting users are not required to modify web site configuration or make changes to scripts with the deployment of LiteSpeed.

''We have an obligation to our customers to offer the best-optimized, most robust hosting environment possible. While we have enjoyed years of stability and security with Apache, we have deployed LiteSpeed to take our hosting platform to the next level, and ultimately meet the need for efficiency and performance,'' said John Lewis, AllureHost CEO.
