Mar 23, 2009 : AtMail Offers Email Archiving System

📅 - Email management appliances and software developer AtMail (atmail.com) announced on Monday it is now offering ArchiveVault, a new web-based email archiving system available in a compact network appliance.

Earlier this year, AtMail released version 1.03 of its open-source webmail platform AtMail Open, as well as version 5.6 of its flagship AtMail email management application.

ArchiveVault automatically indexes and archives all emails and attachments in a web-based interface, enabling customers to capture, store, and recover incoming, outgoing and internal email; enhance user productivity; and help organizations meet growing compliance regulations related to email storage.

"Email archiving is becoming standard policy for companies of all sizes," says Corey Bissaillon, vice president of sales at AtMail. "ArchiveVault allows organizations to maintain compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and to avoid embarrassing legal setbacks when attempting to comply with eDiscovery requests."

By maintaining a secure record of business-critical communications, transaction and intellectual property, the new email archiving solution enables users to be in compliance with different regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley, the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, HIPAA, and the Freedom of Information Act.

ArchiveVault also enables organizations to quickly resolve disputes and prevent litigation.

The solution is powered by Intel's 64-bit Quad Core processors and the 64-bit CentOS enterprise-class Linux, with the complete OS and software pre-installed on the server.

Users can implement the ArchiveVault Appliance by mounting the equipment in an existing server rack, attaching the Ethernet cables, and then logging into the web-admin interface to configure the mail and archiving server options.

The solution's web-based administration page provides a complete set of management tools for viewing messages in the archive, searching and forwarding email.

The Atmail ArchiveVault Appliance is currently available in a 1-Terabyte, 4-Terabyte and an 8-Terabyte model.

Priced at $5,5950, ArchiveVault 1TB is designed for small deployments and includes two 1TB drives RAID1.

ArchiveVault 4TB is priced at $10,950 and is designed for small and medium sized businesses. It includes five 1TB drives RAID5.

Finally, the $16,950-priced ArchiveVault 8TB, which is designed for larger deployments, includes nine 1T drives RAID5.
