He will be responsible for overseeing Peak 10's market development and strategic partnerships.

This marks the first major appointment eak 10 has announcd since last July, when the company named Jeremiah Dooley its director of engineering for managed services.

Whetstone joins Peak 10 from managed and professional services company M3 Technology Group where he served as the co-founder and managing director.

He has worked in sales, business development, channel sales, national accounts and leadership roles for MCI/Verizon and EMC.

In addition to M3TG, he also co-founded Tampa-based Gulf Coast Long Distance.

Peak 10 offers a secure network, high-tech data centers and portfolio of managed services with localized engineering and support to serve companies nationwide.

The company owns and operates data centers in nine key US markets that include Cincinnati, Atlanta, Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina, Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida, Nashville, Louisville, Kentucky, and Richmond, Virginia.

In November, the company expanded its dedicated storage and backup management service offerings for high-volume data customers, extending advanced backup and storage solutions to the company's nine US markets.
