Oct 16, 2008 : DotNetPanel Adds Hyper-V Control

📅 October 16, 2008 - Windows-based hosting control panel developer, DotNetPanel (dotnetpanel.com) has unveiled its new Hyper-V supporting control panel that gives hosting companies a complete virtualization and virtual private server solution, making it the first-ever solution designed for VPS provisioning based on Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V technology, according to an announcement Thursday.

"We are the first control panel development company to build and offer Hyper-V virtualization provisioning software to hosting companies and SaaS providers," DotNetPanel director Feodor Fitsner said in a statement. "Our new Hyper-V enterprise modules provide our customers the ability to create, start, stop, and automate VPS provisioning - all-in-one control panel."

Using the new DotNetPanel Hyper-V modules, system administrators can completely automate VPS provisioning while giving end users a web-based self-service control panel to manage their own servers. The new Hyper-V module has a "virtual data center" mode for hosting, development, testing and demo purposes, where administrators have full control over their VPSs and hosted networks.

"Providers now have full control over their virtualization environment at a remarkably low price without sacrificing quality, speed, and uptime," Fitsner said. "All features and functionality are available in one control panel for complete automation of all business operations."

DotNetPanel Standard Edition is available for a one-time fee of $390 or on lease for $30 per month.

Competing virtualization and automation software developer Parallels (parallels.com) launched Parallels Plesk Control Panel 9.0 beta earlier this week. While it announced new features to increase usability and functionality for service providers, resellers and end-users, it did not explicitly mention Hyper-V control features are in development for the new version of its popular control panel software.
