Aug 29, 2008 : n|Frame Hosts Efficiency Webinar
📅 - Data center services provider n|Frame (nframe.com) will be hosting a free Webinar entitled "Complicated Equation: Facility Power + Cooling = Uptime," to help businesses deal with the rising cost of data center energy and cooling.
On Wednesday, September 10, at 10 a.m. EST, Indianapolis-based n|Frame's webinar promises to simplify the equation, providing proof that technology and business professionals can find solutions to their data center energy and cooling needs.
Organizations are increasingly outsourcing their internal data centers to commercial providers becasue of skyrocketing cooling and energy prices, and increasing energy demand, n|Frame stated on its website.
"According to AFCOM's Data Center Institute, power failures and limits on power availability will interrupt data center operations at more than 90 percent of all companies over the next five years," n|Frame chief operating officer Robert J. Alcorn said in a statement. "Businesses can't take this chance, which is why IT and business professionals should arm themselves with the latest information about data center power needs, back-up systems and redundant heating and cooling systems."
According to the latest figures from the US Energy Information Administration (eia.doe.gov), the average price per kilowatt hour has risen from 6.57 cents in 1990 to 8.90 cents in 2006. n|Frame's home state of Indiana, however, records a more modest increase from 1990's 5.36 cents per kWh to 2006's 6.46 cents.
The September webinar promises to tell attendees how to determine the power and cooling needs of their facility and how to calculate the "true costs" of managing and maintaining a scalable, "always-on" facility.
