Current managed server customers will be able to use the new service for free. The server control panel provides advanced power management, console access, server monitoring, escalation procedures and a range of service, hardware and data center performance monitoring systems.

In June, Aventure Host replaced its traditional dedicated servers on its website with managed cloud servers, providing a lower cost and fully scalable solution that enables customers to meet their growing IT demands.

The company will also be producing a distributable software package that will allow other web hosting companies to deploy a customer control panel in seconds without having to develop a custom software solution in-house.

In preparation for the new control panel, Aventure Host has spent the last few months developing new hardware and services, expanding on its internal technologies to enable server customers to turn VMWare servers into mini clouds by using load balancing and network storage.

Having only completed 20 to 30 percent of the entire process, the web host says the company is far from being done. However, Aventure has already developed new products, services and the technologies that support the new control panel. The web host says the new interface offers improved power management, enabling customers to shutdown, suspend, restart, reboot, hard reboot or start a machine in real time up to 30 percent faster than traditional dedicated servers.

The power management facility has been integrated into our network operations center, enabling Aventure Host's engineersto receive SMS and email alerts in the event that a rebooted server fails to come back online.

The new features include service/server graphs for CPU usage, load average, memory usage, MySQL network usage, MySQL select/volatile handler, Apache hits, Apache scoreboard, and disk space usage; bandwidth usage on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis; hardware node performance to determine temperature/fan performance; and NOC View graphs displaying DNS servers, third party DNS, rack switches and latency reporting.

"Providing these features to our existing clients has proved a huge success," says Richard Kennedy, managing director at Aventure Host. "The feedback from our server customers has exceeded our expectations and as a result further development time has been allocated to the project to."

Founded in 2003, the UK-based Aventure provides a range of managed hosting, shared hosting, reseller, and virtual private server services to 12,000 customers in over 175 countries worldwide. Its data center backbone comprises of multiple fiber links routed to various destinations throughout Europe and the US, peering with Tier 1 Internet providers.

In other cloud computing news, last week, Terremark Worldwide announced that Preferred Hotel Group will use Terremark's Enterprise Cloud services to meet the disaster recovery needs of its mission-critical applications, including its online reservation system.
