Jul 25, 2008 : Escaped Spammer Kills Himself, Family
📅 - Convicted spammer, Eddie Davidson, committed suicide immediately after murdering his wife and 3-year-old daughter, according to reports by the Denver Post.
The 35-year-old was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, late Thursday morning, in the driveway of a home near Bennett, Colorado.
Authorities also found the bodies of Davidson's 29-year-old wife, Amy Lee Ann Hill, and their 3-year-old girl, shot to death, in a 2006 silver Toyota Sequoia located beside Davidson's body.
An infant boy, about 7 months old, was found unharmed in the back seat of the SUV.
A wounded teenage girl, who has reportedly been identified by The Rocky Mountain News as Davidson's daughter, managed to evade the killings by running to a neighbor's home, Sheriff's Office said. She later told authorities what had happened.
Davidson's wife had been in the car with him when he left the Florence prison, about 45 miles south of Colorado Springs, on Sunday. He had last been seen in Lakewood, Colo., where he got a change of clothes and cash, said the Justice Department.
On Sunday, Davidson escaped from the minimum security federal prison camp in Florence, Colarado, where he hade been serving a 21-month federal sentence for distributing millions of emails soliciting penny stocks.
Coined the Colorado "Spam King," Davidson's home-run business grossed him at least $3.5 million from 2003 to 2006.
Davidson was just two months into a 21-month federal sentence, following his April 28 sentencing. He was also ordered to pay $714,139 in fees to the IRS, as well as hand over property he purchased, including gold coins.
