📅 July 28, 2008 - Chicago-based managed hosting provider SingleHop (singlehop.com ) has announced it is accepting pre-orders for its upcoming "Supercharged Server" line, pegged by the company as "the future of dedicated servers."
Available August 4, 2008, this server lineup is designed to handle the escalating technical requirements of the evolving Internet. SingleHop customers can pre-order the first of the new servers for $199. The regular price will be $299. President and CEO Zak Boca said the new server lineup is designed to handle the escalating technical requirements of the evolving Internet. "Websites and the software they run are requiring more and more memory and resources to function properly, and users are demanding a faster, more-real-time experience," said Boca.Boca said the first server in the Supercharged line will be the quad-core, Intel Xeon 5410 Harpertown with some new add-ons. "We added 6GB of RAM because RAM is where almost every large website bottlenecks first."SingleHop recently announced an upgrade program of all servers to 2GB of RAM at no cost to current clients.Supercharged series servers will include a 250GB hard drive, 6GB of RAM, 5TB of Bandwidth and SingleHop's cornerstone LEAP customer portal, which now offers users a Webtop interface launched last week to manage its dedicated servers, Supercharged series servers will offer clients large savings, and a lot of power.
