Mar 5, 2007 : BroadGroup Hosts SaaS Event

📅 - IT services consultancy firm BroadGroup (broad-group.com) announced on Monday that it will host The Hosted Software Summit, which forms part of the third annual Data Centres Europe (datacentres.com/dce/programme/software.asp) event, on March 21 in London, England. The event will explore important changes affecting the IT services industry, the delivery of Software as a Service and its relationship to the future of data centers, from a vendor, purchaser and end user viewpoint.

"Because of the multi-tenant architecture model of SaaS, corporate users can share the hardware based in the data center," says Keith Breed, research director at BroadGroup. "We believe that there is a lag in the deployment of SaaS in Europe, but the profound changes it will bring to the enterprise means that data center operators -- and their suppliers of software and hardware - need to prepare now for future provisioning of hosted software services. Played well, it could represent a key future growth driver."

The Summit will be opened by Eilert Hanoa, vice chairman of the European Software Association and CEO of solutions provider Mamut. Lindsey Armstrong, co-president EMEA of customer relationship management company salesforce.com, will be keynoting in the debate, 'The End of Software?'

Representatives from several companies will gather at the industry forum to identify the link between the emerging hosted software market and data centers, including 7 Global, NTT Europe Online, COLT Telecom, IBM, NaviSite, salesforce.com, Quocirca, First Capital, Akamai, Zeus Technology, OpSource and Arthur D Little.
