📅 March 6, 2007 - The Black Marlin Multimedia Group announced on Monday that it will hold the Mobile Web Americas Conference and Expo (mobilewebexpo.com), which will join mobile-related professionals from around the world to meet in Orlando, Florida on October 2 to 4. The event will focus on how businesses and services can take their sites mobile and capitalize on the lucrative market.
"Think about the convenience of shopping or getting information anytime and anywhere, then think about the opportunity for those who are first to serve the market," says Larry Lockhart, conference organizer. "It's wide open right now and the leaders on the traditional Web will not necessarily be the leaders on the mobile Web." The MWA conference has already signed on over 30 of the industries top speakers. The conference includes four educational tracks. 'The Pre-Conference Workshop: Enhancing The User Experience' will focus on the market overview. 'The Technical Track' is designed for Web developers and designers who want to learn how to build mobile Web sites or make their current site mobile friendly.

'Retail and Commerce Track: Doing business on the mobile Web', will teach attendees how to market their mobile site, establishing yourself in the market, understanding context of use, mobile advertising and more. Finally, the 'Information and Entertainment Track' will cover establishing and marketing mobile information and entertainment services.

The downtime follows weeks of problems with the registerfly.com site, with domain name owners saying they have been unable to manage or transfer their domains.
