May 13, 2008 : 365 Main Presenting at Green Event

📅 - One of the hosting businesses responsible for most of the green hosting headlines reported this week that it would be among the presenters at a new green tradeshow event taking place next week in Los Angeles.

365 Main (365main.com) said Tuesday that its VP of marketing and strategy Miles Kelly will speak at the inaugural Green West Conference and Exposition (greenwestexpo.com), held May 20-22 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. He will discuss the cost savings created by energy efficient data centers.

Kelly will participate in a session called "Trends in Achieving Energy Efficiency," in which he will focus on data centers. Other panelists will address topics including energy management in large commercial buildings and energy efficient practices in the office of the future.

The session will take place Tuesday, May 20 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The event is not a technology-specific conference, but rather is focused on bringing together "the buyers and sellers of green services," according to 365 Main's press release.

"365 Main is proud to have been selected to represent our industry at Green West in its debut," said Kelly, in the announcement. "Without question the decisions made inside the data center can play a significant role in reducing an organization's power consumption, and I look forward to digging into that issue with such a forward-thinking audience."

365 Main has been making frequent headlines lately for its involvement in eco-friendly hosting-related projects.

In March, the company announced that it was the first data center operator to become an Energy Star partner. Last year 365 Main joined the Green Grid, an organization working to develop green standards for the data center and computing hardware businesses.
