The company plans to unveil the new products at the Communications Solutions Spring Expo in Washington, DC, which runs from May 23 to 25.
C I Host says that by connecting to the site from their cell phones, hand-held computers or other wireless devices, users can handle their website maintenance, use technical support, check their email, chat with an accounting representative about billing or order new services.
The company points to the potential benefits of the new service for a busy executive who can now keep tables on the company Web site from an airport or car without having to wait to get back to the office.
C I Host says its clients need instant access, 24 hours a day, and believes this new service is fulfilling that need. The company feels it is wireless enabling all of its clients.
C I Host rolled out the first phase of its wireless Web site, the network status page, in late April. The company will follow on May 10, by launching the wireless version of the entire Web site.
The company says that through the new wireless site, a potential client can surf C I Host's products and prices, order a Web hosting package, and have their login emailed back to their cell phone within 30 seconds. Resellers, says the company, can send in an order for a new account and have the entire procedure completed immediately.
Six months ago, C I Host became one of the first major Web hosting providers to offer full support for Wireless Application Protocol/Wireless Markup Language to all its clients for no extra charge.
According to C I Host, the company's commitment to wireless technology is well founded. C I Host says market research indicates that by 2004, more people will be accessing the Internet using wireless devices than personal computers.
Along with the news of the wireless site, C I Host announced that it has expanded its MonsterChat program, formerly designed to provide technical support and sales functions, to include features allowing clients to chat in real time with an accounting representative about their account, pay bills and view invoices online. The improved MonsterChat service will also be available from the wireless Web site.
