Jul, 2001 : Kalan Gold and Siemens Malaysia Announce Partnership
📅 - Kalan Gold Corporation (visionnetwork.com), the parent company of Malaysia-based Animated Electronics Industries and its subsidiary Perwimas Telecommunications, and Siemens Malaysia (ic.siemens.com) announced on Wednesday that they have formalized a long term strategic business relationship to tap opportunities in the emerging broadband market in Malaysia and the South East Asian region.
Under the Agreement, Siemens will extend preferred payment terms to Kalan for equipment used in the build out of VISIONET, a countrywide wireless broadband network undertaken by Kalan's subsidiary, Perwimas Telecommunications. Perwimas Telecommunications is the operator of VISIONET in Malaysia.
Siemens will extend its best effort to assist Kalan in obtaining applications and multimedia content from its global partners to add to the revenue of VISIONET. Siemens will also be responsible for overall network design, the supply of equipment, systems integration, building out services and maintenance of an end-to-end solution for the deployment of VISIONET.
Patrick Lim, President and CEO of Kalan stated "Siemens' commitment of expertise and support, combined with their cost advantages, will greatly enhance Kalan's efforts to offer competitively priced applications and services in the Malaysian market. We believe that this win-win alliance with Siemens will lead to regional business opportunities for the mutual benefit of both parties."
