Microsoft Chooses Host Europe to Launch UK Server Appliance Kit

📅 July 9, 2001 - Host Europe PLC (hosteurope.com), one of Europe's leadingInternet providers, announced a partnership with Microsoft to provide a newhosting offering based on the Microsoft Server Appliance Kit (SAK).

Microsoft's SAK is built upon Windows 2000, allowing businesses to utilizethe interoperability, reliability and scalability of the Windows 2000operating system. Customers of Host Europe (formerly Magic Moments PLC) willhave access to new features offered by the SAK, which include a "watchdog"timer and reliability framework to ensure the continuous availability ofWindows-powered server appliances, and a new task-based user interface thatsimplifies the administration and deployment of Windows-powered appliances.
The partnership coincides with the opening of Host Europe's new London datacenter, a 3000 square foot facility that is now fully operational.
"As .Net services are delivered through companies like Host Europe, it ismaking it easier and easier for businesses, their partners and customers toshare products and services which is helping the hosting market mature andstrengthen," said Neil Jordan, manager of service providers at Microsoft.
